One of my mom's co-workers (and a former co-worker of mine) has a daughter who is a physician in the army. She's stationed in Afghanistan and sees first-hand the suffering of the little children over there. She said that they are in dire need of warm clothes and shoes right now. My mom knows that I talk to a lot of moms and so she asked me if I could reach out to all of you and ask for help.
If you have any of these gently-used items and would like to help, you could either ship them directly to her, or ship them to St. Joseph's Shrine (where I used to work) and they'll ship them for us, or you could even ship them to me and I'll make sure they get to the Shrine. All I have to do is think of my own kids suffering and it breaks my heart. This is our chance to help and know that we're directly making a difference in these kids' lives. This is the email I got from my mom:
This is the address to get out to all the kind mothers out there who would like to help other children. Xiomary is a doctor so she sees the misery first hand.
