"Any fool knows men and women think differently at times, but the biggest difference is this. Men forget, but never forgive; women forgive, but never forget."— Robert Jordan

Cosby could relate to this post

My son... {shaking head} sometimes I wonder about him. For instance. Tonight:

Me: Matthew go get your pajamas and bring them back in here.
Me: Matt?
Me: Matt?
Me: MATT?
Matt: Yeah mom?
Me: Did you hear me?
Matt: What?
Me: Go get your pajamas and bring them back in here.
Matt: Okay. [he goes running in the opposite direction into MY room.]
Me: Matt? Are you being a good listener?
Matt: What?
Me: GO TO YOUR ROOM AND GET YOUR PAJAMAS!
Matt: Okay Mom!
... after a delay he brings me pajamas - not matching ones, but you have to pick your battles, right?
Me (trying to teach him how to get himself undressed and dressed for bed): Good job, now please put your pajamas on.
Matt [Wanders aimlessly around Jillian's room while I get her in her pajamas]
Me: Matt, please put your pajamas on.
Matt: Okay mom!

... he proceeds to sit down - still fully clothed - picks up the shirt and proceeds to stick his foot into the neck hole as I look on in utter amazement. Believe me, I can't make this stuff up.

Me: Matt, look at what you're doing.
Matt: What?
Me: Aren't you forgetting something?
Matt: Oh, my pajamas?
Me: [exasperated sigh] No, you haven't gotten undressed yet. And your shirt doesn't go on your feet you goof.
Matt: hehe!! Oh yeah!

I wish I could say that he was just being silly. But unfortunately for poor Matt, he seems to have inherited my "off in a cloud somewhere" personality. God help us both.
