Because I'm absent-minded

:doh:Yeah... You all know that I'm flighty and absent-minded. How many times have my friends and family laughed at me for misplacing my keys or forgetting something important? I can think of two instances in the last couple of weeks where I simply didn't know what day it was and forgot something, or just totally forgot that we had plans with someone. I don't know why my brain seems to block out these things, but I've always been that way. Ask my parents. And it's gotten worse since becoming a mom (didn't you know that motherhood kills brain cells?? I think it's excreted in breast milk). Exacerbating the issue is the fact that Mark is just as bad as I am at remembering these things.

Therefore, enter Google Calendar. It's hooked up to my Gmail account so that I can add plans and appointment directly from the email. It's smart enough to send reminders starting a week ahead of time to my email, to Mark's email and to both of our cell phones as text messages. I even embedded it in my blog sidebar. Hopefully this will at least help a little bit. So please. If there's something I need to do or somewhere I need to be, even - I'm embarrassed to admit - a birthday I should remember - please send me an email and MAKE me add it to the calendar (Mike G., this means YOU my friend).

Too bad you didn't have it before my party a couple weeks ago. We missed you!

How about adding my birthday on June 5th and adding a trip out to see me sometime?

Don't forget to put bathroom time in the morning as well as at night. Feed the kids, change the diaper, give the kids a bath, get munchkin from school, don't forget other munchkin in the car, and so on ... lol

I love your calendar. I'm looking for something similar, how did you do it??

if you go to http://www.google.com/calendar/ you can create your own calendar. Then under calendar settings, there's code that you can copy to "embed this calendar." You can also adjust the colors and size through that as well, then add it to the sidebar of your blog. :)

BLESS YOU!! I tried and tried to figure it out but it was getting the best of me. Let's see if this helps me actually get birthday cards out in the mail on time.

Um, my birthday is December 12! ;-)

Thanks for the info on how to do it. (I was gonna ask, too!) Off to do it on my blog, too ...
