Jillian turned 8 months old yesterday!! This has been a big month for her!
Her sleep has greatly improved... she takes two really good naps per day - each between 1 1/2 to 2 hours long. All I have to do is lay her down in her crib, awake, put her Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium on, give her her blankie (that Meema knitted for Matt - but Jillian took over. lol!), and she rolls over and puts herself to sleep. Last night she slept completely through the night - from 6:30 AM 'till 7:00 AM (well, 6:00 by her internal clock... we moved the clocks forward last night). Let's hope she keeps that up!!
She cut two teeth in the past two weeks. Both of her bottom middle teeth have popped through. Haven't managed to get a good picture yet. Still working on that. ;)
She crawls all over the place now... up on hands and knees and can scoot around at a good clip!! She likes to follow after Matthew. I've started keeping the floors *immaculate* again, because every little crumb, piece of string, pebble, paper, finds it's way right into her mouth.
She can get from sitting up to crawling and from crawling into a seated position. And she's pulled up onto her knees once. I moved her crib mattress down a level, just to be proactive. ;)
She eats Gerber Puffs and Cheerios unassisted, eats 2 meals per day - lunch and dinner - consisting of either a 4 oz jar of veggies or a 4 oz jar of fruit mixed with just a little baby cereal to thicken it up. She definitely prefers fruits over veggies. I think I may try yogurt with her soon. :)
Her favorite toys are pretty much anything Matt wants/has. LOL! Poor Matt! His train tracks will never be the same!
She took her first "real" tub bath without the baby bathtub yesterday... with Matt. Matt had a ball pouring water over Jillian's head and she thought that was a riot, too.
She claps, which is absolutely adorable, waves bye-bye and hello, and throws her hands up over her head when you say "SOOO big!" :)
I've been bringing her to Janelle's (Matt's home daycare) one morning a week, just to get her used to being with someone other than me. ;) It took her a couple of Tuesdays to get used to it, but this past week Janelle said she hardly cried at all!! I think it'll be good for her, and she really loves being with other kids, and I couldn't think of anyone else I'd trust my kids with more than Janelle. She's a saint!!
Overall, Jillian is really coming into her own... she's still sensitive and a mommy's girl... but that's who she is and we love her for it!! :) I just can't believe how big she's getting!! Time goes by so fast!
