Two Year Old Stats

I'll update this after his two-year appointment with Dr. Harris with weight and height and stuff... but for now... here are some Matt-Stats. ;-)

Favorite Foods:
  • Breakfast foods - Pancakes, bananas, blueberries, oatmeal, breakfast "cookies" (a.k.a. Nutragrain Bars).
  • Lunch foods - "Stick-a-stick" (Peanut butter & Jelly on wheat) or grilled cheese, or bologna wrapped around a cheese stick with a side of wheat bread {{rolling eyes}}.
  • Supper (this is a tough one, he's really picky at supper time) - breaded chicken nuggets. That's pretty much it. He will eat a jar of babyfood sweet potatoes, squash or carrots if you put it in front of him... and from time to time (if he's in the mood) he'll eat steak, chicken breast, pork, noodles, tomatoes, black olives, cucumbers, pizza, and/or pasta.
  • Snacks - Any kind of fruit (apple, peaches, blueberries, bananas, oranges, etc.). LOVES yogurt, any kind of cracker (especially Goldfish Crackers), dry cereal, pretzels cheese sticks...
  • Drinks - Milk, "Dan-juice" (which could mean apple juice or orange juice depending on his mood), and "Ahh-waah" (water).

Favorite toys:

  • Anything Thomas the Train related - this is first on the list because he plays with his trains a good 75% of the time.
  • Next on the list is anything Disney Pixar Cars related... he has most of the diecast cars by Mattel and he plays with them all the time, especially his Mack the truck and Lightening McQueen.
  • Other than that, he plays with his blocks, Diego Rescue Center, Matchbox Cars and/or his Weebles/Little People.

Favorite Books:

  • Millie Moo
  • Are You My Mother?
  • Green Eggs and Ham
  • Anything Thomas the Train related
  • Anything Disney Pixar Cars related (do you see a trend here? LOL!)
  • Mike Mulligan and the Steam Shovel
  • Snoozers (or anything by Sandra Boynton)
  • The Polar Express
  • He LOVES books and you'll often find him laying on his stomach on the floor leafing through one of his picture books.

Favorite TV shows/Movies:

  • Disney Pixar Cars
  • The Polar Express
  • Thomas the Tank Engine
  • Go, Diego Go!
  • Bear in the Big Blue House
  • The Wonder Pets
  • Bob the Builder

Favorite Songs:

  • Life is A Highway by Rascal Flatts (Cars soundtrack)
  • Route 66 (Cars Soundtrack)
  • Sh-boom (Cars Soundtrack)
  • Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
  • Ring Around the Rosie
  • Happy Birthday
  • Santa Claus is Coming to Town
  • Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer
  • Old MacDonald

Favorite "Loveys" -

  • Brown blanket w/ airplane (we have two in case one is in the wash)
  • Puppy (I think Katy gave him this)
  • Lion (from Meredith)
  • Thumper (from April)
  • Cream blanket (he sleeps on it, from Dr. Harris).
  • Thomas The Tank Engine stuffed 'animal' (From Mrs. Anderson/Michelle's mom).

Other Favorites:

  • Color - Blue (when you ask him what color something is, he ALWAYS says "Blue." LOL!
  • Pets - Sadie and his Fishhhhhhh :)
  • Word/phrase - No (of course, he's two!), "Mumma, Look!" "See?" "Uh, oh! Bloken (broken)!"
  • Art project - Finger painting or playing with Play-doh.
  • Night-time routine - Bath, brush teeth, followed by massage with baby lotion, read two stories then Daddy tucks him in and helps him say goodnight to all of his crib friends.
  • People - Bebe Pix (Jillian), Dackidah (Jonathan) and Ryan, "My Mike" (Uncle Mike), Pepere (my dad) and Dad (Mark).

Milestones:

  • He can talk in three and four word sentences now, although most of the time the sentences are still kind of choppy ("Uh oh, mumma! Drop it Spoon! Floor"), he still gets his point across, though.
  • He can jump, climb, walk backwards, run, go up and down stairs... he's very physical.
  • He can use a spoon, fork, drink from a regular cup.
  • He tells me when he's in the process of pooping.
  • Sleeps through the night (7:00/7:30 PM - 6:30 AM), and takes a three hour nap in the afternoon (but he's been doing that since he was about a year old).
  • Says "Please, Thank you, Bless you, Excuse me" on a regular basis, in the right context and most of the time without prompting.
  • Can sing his ABC's and count to 20. Knows his shapes and we're working on his colors.
  • Knows some Spanish words (thanks to Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego Go!).
  • Already has a vivid imagination (ask me about the broccoli story).

I see that Matt and Payton have a lot of similarities. Payton LOVES her "bars" (nutrigrain bars), everything is "blue", and she is super polite. She is into "scuzie" (excuse me) if you are in her way... They are too cute! Love the update:)
