36 Week Appointment & Ultrasound!

I had a doctor's appointment today and an ultrasound! She's estimated to weigh a little over 6 lbs, looks like she has a full head of hair and is head down (phew!!). She had a foot and her hands up near her face the whole time, but we still got a sort of decent picture of her face (Her face is to the right, it looks like she's lying on her side, facing the 'camera' in the pictures. Click on them to make them bigger).

As for me, they did the Group B Strep test today, did an internal for the first time (I'm 1 cm dilated Shocked ) and everything else looks great. I put on 2 more pounds for a total weight gain so far of 22 lbs. My BP was 100/60.

It was funny to see how many people you can cram into a tiny little exam room! We had Matt in his stroller, Mark, the doctor and a nurse in there! It was like we were having a party! Good thing modesty went out the window for me the first time I gave birth!! ;-)

I can't believe I have probably less than 4 1/2 weeks left!!

Matt's new words over the weekend:
  1. Blanket ("Bee-kee")
  2. Ouch
  3. Ow
  4. Out
  5. Button
  6. Book
  7. Milk ("Gulk")
  8. Mike
  9. Bike
  10. Bouncy
  11. Down
  12. Stuck
  13. Ball
His language skills are really starting to take off!! :)

We all had a very busy weekend! Friday night Katy came over to babysit so Mark and I could go out for our anniversary (we went to see Over the Hedge - cute!), then on Saturday we went out for lunch at the Fireside with Mark's parents and Uncles Charlie and Bob, then we went to go visit Nana, back to Mark's parents so Mark could fix the TiVo, to Kohl's to get some clothes for Mark and a Father's Day gift for my dad, to Barnes & Noble for iced coffees (yum!) and finally to Toys R Us to get Matt a new toy car (Jonathan and Ryan were at Mark's parents and Jonathan had a toy car from the movie Cars that Matt was having a BALL playing with and he started crying when it came time to leave and we had to leave the car behind, so Daddy being the old softy that he is, HAD to stop at TRU to get one for his little buddy).

Sunday Matt and I got up early and let Dad sleep in, and we made him keek-eeks for breakfast. ;-) Later, we went to my parent's for a Father's Day brunch. It was a beautiful day (about 95*) and we all brought our suits. Chris, Michelle, Mike and Kate were all there. Matt went in my parent's pool for the first time this season. He absolutely LOVED it. Once he went in to the water, we couldn't get him out! Every time we tried to get him out of the pool, he'd cry. He kept calling it a 'baaath.' LOL!!

Here's a video of Matt going into the pool with Pepere (Aunty Kate is holding him on the side):

The kid has no fear, too. I really think he would have just jumped right in to the pool if we had let him. We took the expandable baby gates and stretched them across the length of the deck so he'd be safe. He didn't have his nap, though, so by around 2:00, the poor kid was tired and cranky. My mom, being the absolute saint that she is, brought him upstairs and rocked him and he slept on her for about a 1/2 hour. I can never get him to sleep on me like that! I guess after 4 kids you get to be kind of an expert! :)

Around 3:00, we left and went to Michelle and Paul's for dinner. Matt had blast playing with his cousins and playing in the kiddie pool that Michelle and Paul set up on the grass. He kept picking the grass out of the water and handing it to me saying "sticky!" LOL! And he'd climb out of the pool and say "Out!"

By around 6:00, Matt was an absolute zombie. He had some trouble settling down at Michelle's though, because he was just so overtired! Between Mark's mom and I we finally got him to settle down and fall asleep upstairs in the pack n' play by around 7:00.

Needless to say, by the time we got home last night around 9:00, I was ready to fall down I was so tired!! I keep telling myself that I really have to slow down now that I'm in the home stretch... but there's always somewhere to go and something to do. I think it's going to take me about a week to recuperate from the past 3 days (today included!), but I have to admit it was a really fun weekend! :)
