We were at the mall shopping and a guy at one of those "Cash for Gold" kiosks gave the kids a couple of balloons. Then we stopped at Bertucci's for some dinner. As we were eating, a very harried looking mom with a baby and a two year old sat down next to us. The baby was fussy and the little boy was acting... well... like a typical two year old.
We finished eating and were getting ready to leave and I noticed a thoughtful look on Jillian's face as she was looking at the kids sitting next to us. Then she got up, walked over to their table, and asked the mom if she could give the baby her balloon. Matt saw what Jill was doing and without hesitation, walked over and gave the two year old his balloon. The look of pure gratitude on that mom's face was priceless. She (as well as several people at tables surrounding us) kept saying how kind and thoughtful my kids were and how she hopes her kids will be like that some day. I was so proud I could have burst. Thinking about it now brings tears to my eyes.
How did I get so incredibly lucky?
