I bet you're all just dying to find out how I'm doing at the gym. Aren't you? AREN'T YOU?? Ahem...
Well, since you asked so nicely, I'm doing fairly well, if I do say so myself. When I started, I could barely do a lap around the track (9 laps supposedly equal one mile... but Mark and I have our doubts about the accuracy of that). Today I actually ran six - count them! - SIX laps without stopping. Mind you, I was ready to pass out when I finished, but I did them! And then went on to walk two laps, ran three, walked two, ran two. In a normal gym visit, Mark and I also usually do some free motion machines to work out the upper body and then round off the session with a 15-20 minute go on the elliptical machine or the stationary bike. I've also been taking a Zumba class with my friend Cheri every Friday. At that class, I find that as long as I don't look in the mirror as I'm tripping around like a baby giraffe on steroids, I actually have FUN! Just do me a favor, if you're at the gym at 9:30 on Friday mornings, don't look in Studio 1. If you laugh at me, I don't think my pride could take it.
I have to say that although I'm not seeing any real results yet (I feel results in terms of stamina and Mark says that my legs and... erm... butt look firmer, but personally I think he's just saying that), I am finding out how people get addicted to going to the gym. I feel so good about myself when I come home, knowing that I did something for ME for once. And opportunities for a stay at home mom to do something selfishly for herself and herself only are few and far between, as I bet a lot of you can relate.
I admit that it does help that Matt and Jill love the childcare so much. Every morning they ask me if we're going to the gym today. That definitely helps in the motivation department.

WTG!!! Keep it up and you will see the results. I bet you are slimming down and toning up enough for Mark to notice. It doesn't take long.
