Days four and five...

Have been mostly successful. Yesterday she had no accidents in the morning. She pee'd three or four times, I think, asking to go every time. Then we went to Jackie and Ryan's house for dinner and she had a couple of poop accidents, but honestly I think it was because she was so busy playing that she ignored the signs. But she had a pull-up on so it wasn't that bad. She did have a couple of successful potty trips of each type (I'm getting sick of saying poop and pee in my blog, and I'm sure you are, too) at Jackie's house.

Today has been okay so far... She came downstairs today with a wet diaper, and I could tell she had just gone. She went a couple of times on the potty, but had one pee accident around lunchtime. Both the wet diaper this morning and the accident kind of surprised me, because she seemed to have that mastered over the past few days. Then I started worrying that maybe the set back was due to the fact that we went to the movies for several hours Thursday night, and were out at Jackie and Ryan's last night - both of which are fairly new environments for her when she's just starting to train... not to mention the fact that both days she was up late... so I decided that today I'd take a step back and have a nice quiet day. Unfortunately that meant that I had to cancel our plans with Chris and Michelle and Jackson this afternoon... but I'm so close to the no-diapers-horizon that I'm willing to make sacrifices to get us there that much sooner. ;)

The good news is that although she had a couple of accidents, she's not afraid to go anymore. The first few times she went on the potty, it was almost traumatic. She cried and shook and looked terrified. Now she just comes running up, says, "I hafa go POTTY!" I put her on, she gets this look of intense concentration on her face and goes, then smiles and says, "Can I have some candy now?" LOL!! It's pretty darned cute.

So we'll continue practicing and plugging away. I am so incredibly proud of her, though. And I could just dance a jig at the thought of being at the end of my diapering days.

nice job Kelly! You are doing awesome! Ian has gone on the potty twice, but we have not really started training yet. I think I am going to go with the same techniques you used, but we want to wait just a few months when hopefully he will be that much more ready.

It amazes me how much she goes. I think I might use the restroom once or twice all day at work, and then three or 4 times at home each day (this includes when I wake up and before bed). Do you stop going as much when you grow up?
