Now I know what Bill Cosby was talking about when he spoke of all kids having "Brain Damage."
We were going to see the Lowell Spinners play last night, so I told Matt to go up and get his sandals. Five minutes goes by and I don't hear anything coming from up there, so I call to him to get his sandals and come downstairs, we have to leave. He comes down, stands in front of me with this silly grin on his face and bare feet.
"Matt, where are your sandals?"
"Oh," he says, and runs back up the stairs.
Another five minutes goes by. In this time, I've changed Jill, combed her hair, and packed the diaper bag.
"Matt!!! Come down here with your sandals please! We have to leave now!"
"Oooookay!!!!"
"Matt! Don't be fresh!"
He comes stomping down the stairs into the kitchen. No sandals in sight, but he's holding... his blue fuzzy Thomas slippers.
"!!!!! Sandals, Matt. Not slippers. Sandals!"
"Oh, okay."
I'm starting to think that if you want something done right, you just have to do it yourself. Then I'm struck with panic that I just sounded eerily like my mom (no offense Mom :) ).
FINALLY, Matt comes downstairs with his sandals.
We (miracle of all miracles) make it to the game on time and have a great time with everyone.

That is so funny! We have a fresh 3 year old to. Although Payton would not have come down until she messed around with anything and everything on her way back! Glad you made it to the game and had fun!
Wasn't it also Bill Cosby that said that men (and Matt IS a man...just a very young one still, but a man nonetheless) do this ON PURPOSE BECAUSE they know that the next time, the woman WILL just do it all herself. Remember the story about him giving the kids cake for breakfast? It's a guy thing. BREAK HIM OF IT NOW IN THE NAME OF ALL THINGS HOLY!!! DO HIS FUTURE WIFE A FAVOR! BREAK HIM NOW!!! ;o)

Seriously, some weird connection thing...
Last night, I sent Ally upstairs for her sandals so we could meet John for supper. She came down in her bathing suit - nothing else. Sent her back up to change AND get her sandals. She came down naked wearing her dress shoes.
sigh......
3 is so much fun!
LOL I so know the feeling. Abby can Grant both do the same thing sometimes!
