Happy (not so much) Birthday Matt!!

I cannot believe my little man is three!! This time three years ago, I was cuddling my sweet little 6 pound 12 oz miracle boy. Where the heck has the time gone??

But poor Matt... it was NOT a good day for him, nor was this past weekend a good one for him. Saturday night he came down with an awful stomach bug. He seemed to be okay this morning... it had been over 24 hours since he had last gotten sick, so I gave him his usual pancakes and juice for breakfast and I guess it was too soon because about an hour later he was sitting on my lap and... well, it's enough to say that it was not a good morning for either of us.

He's such a trooper though. No matter what, he always maintains that sunny disposition! No cake and icecream on his birthday? No problem! Apparently Jello is Matt's "Favorite medicine in the whole wide world!" And it makes his "belly feel better, so I won't get sick anymore!" That's my optimistic little man!!

While we're talking Matty... here are a couple of other conversations I've been meaning to share with you all...

Mark: That's stupid.
Matt: Daddy, I don't like that word.
Mark: Well, what word do you like Matt?
Matt: [thinks for a moment] Guacamole.

Me: Matt, what's your name?
Matt: Matthew DeLuca
Me: What's my name?
Matt: Kelly DeLuca
Me: What's Daddy's name?
Matt: Mark DeLuca
Me: What's Jillian's name?
Matt: Pickle DeLuca

He also had his first visit to the dentist to get his teeth cleaned, in his words, "so I won't get marshmallows on my teeth." Don't ask me where he came up with that one! Here are a couple of pics of that. He was, of course, a very good little boy and charmed the heck out of the dentist and the hygienist.

Matt's favorite thing to do lately is say to me, "Daddy ALWAYS {fill in the blank}." Like "Daddy ALWAYS makes me a train track." or "Daddy ALWAYS makes me chocolate milk." This is usually a response to me telling him that he can't do something or that I'm busy and can't do it for him right that second. LOL. I'm like, ooh really?? Haha!!

In short, I'm incredibly blessed to have Matthew in my life and as my son. He astounds me and amuses me constantly.

Happy birthday my sweet little man.

(next post will be more about Jill, I promise!)
