She learned how to stand unassisted last week!! She's so cute and every day she gets a little more steady on her feet. It's so strange to see a teeny little peanut standing there all on her own.
She now has 4 teeth, and is cutting 3 more at the same time. She has her top-right-central incisor, her top-right-lateral incisor and her two bottom central incisors. In the order that I think they'll "pop," she's cutting her bottom-right-lateral incisor, her top-left-lateral-incisor and last, but surely not least, her top-left-central incisor. LOL!
I had to bring her to Dr. Harris on Tuesday for a bad cold she has (she's fine), so she got weighed, but not measured. She currently weighs 17 lbs, .08 oz. Doing just fine there!! She still eats well... her favorite veggies are those she can self-feed - like carrot pieces, green beans, etc. She LOVES this dish I make her with chicken broth, small pasta pieces and peas. She also loves bananas, cheerios, blueberries, diced chicken, cheese... like I said, pretty much anything she can self-feed. She doesn't do too well with "baby food" that I have to feed her with a spoon.
As far as sleep goes, she's still doing really well with that... she sleeps from 7:00 PM until around 6/6:30 AM and she takes two naps - one in the morning and one in the afternoon - sleeping anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours (although lately I think she's starting to drop that morning nap because she's getting tired later and later in the morning).
She takes three 1/2 eight-ounce bottles... one shortly after getting up in the morning, about 4 ounces before her morning nap, one before her afternoon nap and one right before bed. It winds her down and gets her sleepy. I can still put her down in her crib wide-awake though, and she goes right off to sleep on her own.
She's getting very good at communicating - hands up if she wants me to pick her up, she'll "kiss" on demand, do "Oh nice" (putting her arms around my neck and her head down on my shoulder), wave bye-bye, clap, point... And the thing that most amazes me and tickles me - she says MAMA!!! Matt didn't say that until he was 18 months old, so the fact that it's her first word just makes me tear up every time! She also says ba-ba, which I'm pretty sure means bottle, since she says it when she's hungry or tired. She also makes this adorable "cheesy face" where she wrinkles up her little nose, squints her eyes and grins... I'm still trying to get a picture of it.
Her favorite things are her blanket - won't go to sleep without it - Matthew, her Uniqua (Backyardigans) doll that sings, her learning town farm (we found one Sarah!!), and her Weebles.
Her hair is getting long and wavy. I'm so happy about that! It's kind of a dirty blond shade, with reddish hilights. *I* personally think that her eyes are going to be light brown, but everyone else thinks they're going to be gray/hazel. We'll see. ;)
She's still shy in new situations, which is just fine, it's pretty typical for babies this age. She does not like the feeling of grass... she freaks out every time we go outside and I try to put her down. I also bought a kiddie-pool for the kids and she didn't like that, either. Wait till you see a picture. LOL!
All in all she's the sweetest, cutest, cuddliest little girl around!! :) She's such a good baby... it's hard to believe she's the colicky, sensitive little soul she was just 6 months ago!!

I cant believe she was 17lbs 8 ounces. That is what Ian was on Monday when I brought him to the doctor He was also working through a cold and had lost a couple of ounces. He is so skinny, to be that weight and 30+ inches long!
It's all in her chunky-monkey thighs. LOL!
She hasn't had much of an appetite either, this week, because of her cold so I wouldn't be surprised if she lost a few ounces, too.
Oh, and by the way, she's 17 lbs .08 ounces, not 17 lbs, 8 ounces. ;)
