Jillian's Baptism

Jillian's Baptism was today. Smile She was pretty good... only had two brief crying spells and actually didn't cry at all during the actual Baptism. She looked so sweet in her Christening gown (that is an heirloom made out of a piece of Mark's mom's wedding gown). She was also wearing a beautiful diamond cross pendant that Auntie Kate got for her as Godmother, and a headband that can later be used as a wedding garter from Auntie Michelle. Fr. John presided and there were three other babies being baptized as well. It was a really nice ceremony.

More pics to follow - the memory card wasn't in my camera (thanks Matt!!) Rolling Eyes so I'm waiting on others who had cameras to send me theirs.

Jillian turned 2 months old today!! And she laughed for the first time this morning! :-D It was so cute. :) By the end of the day, though, the poor thing was so tired and over-stimulated that she was just inconsolable for a little while. So I swaddled her up, tight as can be, gave her a bottle and put her to bed. I have a feeling she'll sleep soundly tonight!!

Matt was excellent in Church. Two funny moments, though. Chris was sitting in a pew off to the side and Matt kept calling out "DIS! DIS!!" hehe!! And I bought him a Magna Doodle to play with (which I think got left at the Church... sigh...), so Mark's mom was drawing for him and for some reason he thought the smiley face she drew was hilarious. He was giggling - big belly laughs - while the priest was doing the sermon. LOL! So cute.

Oh, and Katy bought Jillian this beautiful Precious Moments figurine. It's perfect... I used to collect them and Katy found one that's a little brown haired girl holding a Tinkerbell in her hand... and Katy LOVES anything Tinkerbell. I absolutely love it and love the thought and care Kate took in picking it out. Well, in all the confusion, it was left behind at the Church when we went back to our house for the party. When Kate discovered this, we immediately went back to look for it... and guess where it was?? Right under the statue of St. Anthony, of course!! Shocked How weird is that?? Considering St. Anthony is the patron saint of lost items!!
Well, I fully intended on writing more... but I can hardly keep my eyes open... Coffee Jillian has decided the last couple of days to get up at the butt-crack of dawn. I'll write more tomorrow.

Still sorry we missed the actual Christening, but glad we could stop by afterward. It was fun playing with the kids, as usual. I didn't get to see Jillian in her Christening gown, but did get to see the fussiness you have mentioned. That girl does have a set of lungs on her! I have new appreciation and respect for you! :) Glad everything went okay at the church and can't wait for more pictures.

We actually haven't made it through an entire service at church lately. Fortunately Payton makes it through most of the service before she has had it. We have actually resorted to bringing cookies and her blanket to entice her to be good. Great parents aren't we:)

You guys are the cutest little family:)
