Cool Blue

Overheard in Matt's babblings on the way home from Memere & Pepere's house Thursday night: "Beebee, Aaaah-yoooo!!" (translation: Baby, love you!) :) Ahh, the moments that make parenthood completely worth it!

I took him to have his haircut that same day. The girl who cuts his hair there LOVES him!! She says he's her favorite client by far. She knows him by name but also calls him "Pop Boy" due to his love of lolly-pops. In fact, the whole staff knows who he is and loves when he comes in. :) Matt recognized her right away and ran right up to her with his arms up, calling "up!" and "pop!" LOL!! They're running a special at Snip-its right now where they'll put your school colors in your hair (colored gel) so she asked me if it would be okay to put some in Matt's hair, so I said sure!! He was so cute!! The secret, of course, is making sure he only gets 'pops' on very very special occasions. ;-) Here's a pic (of course he had to show off his "pop"):

Jillian was in bed last night by 7:30 and didn't wake up again until 1:30 AM, and has been doing that pretty consistently since I bought that Miracle Blanket. I LOVE that thing. Have I mentioned that I love that thing? Now we just have to work on her daytime sleep. I have to get her used to sleeping in her crib during the day. If there's any light in her room, she's awake... which means she's usually up for the day at 5:00 AM. Greeeaaaattt... Weird thing is, she'll sleep in my arms or in her swing just fine, but doesn't like lying on her back during the day. Like I said before, though, I'm focusing on the baby steps. I'm just fortunate she sleeps well during the night.

But then there seems like times when no matter what you do, she's unhappy. Yesterday was one of those days. Matt was in a bad mood too, in fact. Maybe because it was raining?? Anyway, Matt threw a royal hissy fit after his nap about goodness knows what... he just kept screaming "BLANKET!!!" over and over again. He'd pick it up and throw it down again. And it seemed like Jillian screamed non-stop from 1:30 until she finally fell asleep at 7:00. Needless to say I was a little frazzled by the time Mark got home.

He did the sweetest thing, though. He could see that I was at my whit's end, and since we couldn't go out on a date-night (lack of babysitter - although I don't think I could leave a colicky baby and a toddler in his terrible-twos with anyone in good conscience, anyway), he brought the date to me. :) He got Nine's take-out and we rented that Matthew McConna-hey-hey-hey (won't even attempt to spell it) and Sarah Jessica Parker flick on On-Demand. :) He even rubbed my feet and poured me two glasses of wine... Then let me sleep in this morning. :) I love my husband!

Oh, here's a gratuitous Jillian pic for good measure. I call this her "Pensive Look":

Absolutely love the blue hair. Can't wait to see everyone over thanksgiving. Hey, can we give Matt red hair for xmas and Jillian green hair? It would be a great pic for Aunty April to take back to NC with her, lol
