Jillian's umbilical cord fell off last night so tonight after supper I gave her her first tub bath. :) She seems to like water as much as Matt does... although she didn't like having her hair washed. ;) When her hair dried after the bath, it looks like it has a little curl to it and it's definitely a few shades lighter than Matt's hair was at this age.
Her sleep patterns are DEFINITELY improving. {{Knock wood!!}} Two nights in a row she went to bed at 10:00. Both nights she woke around midnight for a feeding, then went 4 1/2 hours 'till the next feeding (although last night she fussed from 12:30 until 2:00 starting with a diaper leak that just completely woke her up... I ended up comfort nursing her to sleep at around 1:30, but, like I said, she then went until 5:45 for her next feed, so I'm not complaining... much. ;-) ). I find that by swaddling her within an inch of her life - with both a Swaddle Me blanket and a receiving blanket - helps her to settle down better.
I think Matt's 2 year molars are coming in... he's been sucking/chewing on his fingers the last few days and he's been kind of cranky, too. In fact, Sunday night Jillian slept better than Matt did! He settled down with some Tylenol, though.
He got his first bloody nose yesterday. Scared the crap out of me but he didn't seem fazed. We went to the Shrine to show off Jillian to my coworkers and Matt was running around the Gift Shop, as usual, and must have tripped over his own feet and fell face first into one of the jewelry cabinet displays. :( He cried for about 2 minutes until I let him sip from my lemonade and then he was happy. His nose bled for about 5 minutes or so and he seems fine... no bruises or anything. I was more traumatized than he was, although I tried not to show it in front of him.
I did something insane this morning. I was feeling brave so I took both kids food shopping with me. LOL! It wasn't bad, actually. They were both really well behaved. I used one of those carts with two toddler seats in the front as well as the regular seat that the car seat can fit on. The most hectic part was actually AFTER I got home and had to bring all the food in and put it away... all with a whiney toddler who wanted a snack and NEEDED a nap and a hungry newborn. Fun fun!! At least I know now that it can be done and it did get me out of the house for a little while.
Matt now has a name for Mark's mom. We call her Meema - a trend that Jonathan started when he couldn't say Grandma. Matt's version is Abba! LOL! I told her that we'll just call her the Dancing Queen. hehe!!
