Tuesday Jackie and Jadyn came over in the afternoon and Ryan came over after work. Jackie and I left the kids with the guys and went shopping at the Loop, got iced teas at Starbucks and sat at an outside table and had a nice chat after. It was such a nice night out!! So relaxing! I'm really really hoping that we can make it kind of a tradition to get out together at least once a week because I had such a good time. :)
Thursday I took Matt to have his haircut at Snipits. We went to the new one in North Andover this time. It was hilarious! The hairdresser cutting Matt's hair said he was the best customer she'd had all week! He was a little nervous at first, but as soon as I reminded him that he'd get a "pop" he was fine. 'Course, sticky pops and cutting hair do not a clean Matthew make! He had hair and sticky mess all over his face, in his ears, eyes, arms, etc. He had one hairy lolly pop, too. :-P He didn't care though and just sucked away, oblivious to anything else going on around him. I had to take him to Meema's office after (5 minutes away) to get cleaned up because a simple baby wipe wasn't doing the trick.
Friday we met up with Ronni, Bryan and Jill (SOO cute!!!), and Jackie, Ryan and Jadyn at the Jordan's Furniture store in Reading. This place is like Disney World on the inside!! They have a Jelly Belly "Town" complete with a Jelly Belly Green Monster and an animatronic "Wally," a trapeze "school," an IMax theater, a Fuddrucker's restaurant and a water/light show every 15 minutes. And yes, they also sell furniture. ;-)
Anyway, we decided to go there because Jackie and Ryan have taken Jadyn there before and she was enthralled with the light show, so we figured Matt and Jill might like to see it, too. Matt, however, was terrified from the minute we walked in the door. I'm not sure if it was the bright lights, the huge animated "Monster" (Wally - the Red Sox Mascot) with a Yankee's dummy clutched in his paw, or the loud music, but Matt was. not. having. it. So we ate at Fuddruckers and left shortly after. Oh well, it was a fun time at dinner and really nice to see everyone anyway. :)
Yesterday was Jonathan and Ryan's birthday party (they were born a week apart, Jonathan turned 6 and Ryan turned 4). The weather was perfect - 80's, sunny, low humidity and a nice breeze. Perfect for a cookout. Paul rented a bounce house which the kids LOVED. We got to spend time getting to know D.J., Jonathan and Ryan's new Puggle puppy. A Puggle is a cross between a Pug and a Beagle. He is SO cute!! His big eyes and little curly tail just kill me. :) It was so nice to see friends and family we don't get to see very often and spend time outdoors chatting and having a good time.
So... at least I'm keeping myself busy and the time is going by fast. The downside to being so busy, and the fact that my sleeping is HORRIBLE these days, is that I am absolutely exhausted. I don't even have the energy to be nesting!! Hopefully this week will be a little more relaxing because Mark has Monday and Tuesday off and I can rest up a little. :)
