Poor Yogi...

As many of you know, my almost-two year old cat, Yogi was diagnosed with FeLV (Feline Leukemia) last October. She most likely had it before we got her (so it's a miracle that Sadie didn't contract it, too), but started showing signs of being sick last fall. At that time, the vet gave her anywhere from 6 months to live to 2 years.

In the last three weeks, she's really gone down hill. She went from 12.5 pounds to 9.6... and just in the last week she lost an additional 1 pound. She's not eating, she's pulling her hair out (a sign of nausea), and acting really lethargic.

Mark brought her to the vet tonight and they gave her a steriod and an appetite inducer... but the vet's not optimistic about it all. If they don't work, we're bringing her in next week to be put to sleep.

She's just the sweetest little kitty, too. I've never seen anything like her... she lets Matt pull her ears, her tail, climb all over her, and she takes it all with good grace. She's the ultimate lap kitty, too. I'm going to miss her so much!!!

On one hand, I feel silly getting this upset over a pet, but on the other hand, I don't care if it's silly or not. :( She is seriously the sweetest, most gentle little soul in a cat I've ever seen. And it's not fair that she's so young.

I made this tribute to her:
